The wholesale prices of tin and zinc on Wednesday rose up to Rs 100 per kg in the local market, tracking global markets. Tin ingot prices continued their upward journey and shot up by Rs 100 at Rs 1,145 a kg after its prices at the London Metal Exchange shot up to $25,100 a tonne. Traders said increased demand from soldering wire and soldering rod makers also gave push to rising tin prices in the domestic market. Lead ingot (Hindustan Zinc) prices were up by Rs 10 at Rs 120 a kg, while lead imported gained Rs 3 at Rs 143 a kg largely in tandem with global markets.
